I am serving Justice today as a Juror in Van Nuys

Good day!!!  Today is my opporunity to appear for the LA Superior Court and present myself as a potential Jury member.  So, I followed the directions... got good sleep, left early this morning, arrived on time, brought my paper work, excused myself from work, brought a book and some snakes, and now, at this very moment, I'm patiently waiting here in the Jury Assembly Room using their free internet computors!  I've served previously, about two years ago at the downtown LA courthouse, but this is my first time at the Van Nuys court.  So far so good, all of us jurors have finished orientation and are now on standby waiting to hear if the five cases today will be needing us, and when.

So, what comes to mind for you when I say "jury duty"???  For some people, it is Pauly Shore and the nearly hilarious movie "Jury Duty" but for others the first thing that comes to mind is "Aw heck! I don't have time for this!"  Well, for me its the word "service."  Service is an act of giving.  Giving is an act of love.  And all the world needs is love.

So good luck to me and any criminals or civil disputes that get in my way today! ;)

Amazing news for any science lover... one click will now take you to PopSci's 137 year archive of scanned magazines!  From that archives entrance page you can enter any search word and begin browsing immediately. Can you imagine the possibilities...?...because I'm just beginning to imagine what fun treasures I'll find while exploring!  Articles appearing online today reveal that some issues are better than others... for example the announcement article in Wired.com can only "recommend starting in the optimistic, tech-loving 1950s" while earlier years are more "text-booky" in nature.  Come back here and post your comments if you want to share what you found to be popular science... enjoy!

What is Yo Gabba Gabba?  It is a kids show from Nick Jr with lots of episodes available on DVD!  It is so fun to watch because it is filled with fun music, dancing, videos, games and really cool characters, stories and songs!  The cast is magically brought to life by a magical DJ named Lance and Lance loves to dance, have fun with his friends and even fly!  Every time we visit Gabbaland we learn new things and have fun with music and dance!  So if you ever see a red cyclops alien, a pink flower girl, a green hairy kid with long arms, a purple monster girl with two teeth from the land of ice and a yellow robot with magic talents, then say hi to my friends Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee and Plex!
